Mimi Mars, born Marianne Namshali Mdee, is a Tanzanian singer, actress, and media personality. Born in Paris, France, she is the daughter of a former Tanzanian ambassador and Sophia Mdee. Mars began her music career in 2017 with her hit "Shuga" and released her first extended playlist in 2018. She has collaborated with notable artists in Eastern African music. Mars debuted as an actress in 2019 and won the Best Actress category at the Kalasha Awards in Kenya and the Tanzania Film Awards in 2021.
